Organic matter content is an extremely critical factor affecting the physical and chemical properties of soil. When the soil organic matter content is high, it can promote the formation of aggregate structure, thereby significantly improving the soil's permeability and water and fertilizer retention capacity. At the same time, it is also beneficial for the fruit to accumulate sugar, enhance aroma, and optimize quality.

Applying base fertilizer after fruit harvest is the only important time of the year to replenish organic matter to the soil on a large scale. However, if there are any inappropriate steps during the operation, not only will the effect of improving the soil fail to be achieved, but it may also cause damage to the root system, ultimately leading to consequences that outweigh the gains.

If organic fertilizer is to play a role in improving soil, the key is to mix it thoroughly with the soil. Especially fertilizers such as farmyard manure and manure, which are usually applied in large quantities, are prone to uneven mixing with the soil. If the fertilizer is not fully decomposed, when the roots grow and extend to this place, they will be burned by contact with the incompletely decomposed fertilizer. This prevents the roots from expanding and extending outward, eventually leading to the weakening of the tree.

Take the soil 15cm below the location where the base fertilizer was applied and the soil where no organic fertilizer was applied, and measure the increase in soil organic matter.
