Grapevineyard cleaning is a critical operation in grape cultivation. By removing pathogens and insect eggs from the field, it effectively reduces the base number of pests and diseases in the following year, alleviating the burden of subsequent prevention and control efforts. Grapevineyard cleaning is particularly important in plots where pests and diseases have been particularly severe in the previous year.

First, park cleaning time.

Grape orchard cleaning is generally done twice: during the dormant phase and during the bulb phase. Dormant phase cleaning is usually done after pruning, preferably when weather is good. Early spring cleaning should be done during the bulb phase, before the leaves unfold.

Second, precautions for garden cleaning.

1. Clear dead branches and leaves from the orchard. Composting or burying them in the field is not recommended, as pest control may be lax later in life, potentially allowing insect eggs or pathogens to attach to grape branches. Shallow burial may actually help them overwinter in the soil or branches. Therefore, it is recommended to completely remove pruned branches from the orchard. Burning in the field is also not recommended, as it may damage surrounding trees due to poor fire control.

2. Scrape off the old bark. The bark of old trees has many gaps, which are easy to hide insect eggs. It is also difficult for pesticides to penetrate and difficult to completely remove them. It is recommended that for old trees over 5 years old, some of the old bark be scraped off before cleaning the garden to clear the gaps and improve the cleaning effect.

However, be careful not to peel the bark too much to avoid damaging the tree. It is only necessary to open the gaps and there is no need to peel it completely. The bark of young trees under 5 years old is thinner and the gaps are shallow. Scraping the bark is not recommended to prevent damage. In addition, in addition to the main trunk, the old bark on the main vines of old trees also needs to be cleaned, as scale insects often hide here.

3. Thoroughly clean the garden. Most insect eggs and pathogens overwinter in the soil. Therefore, when cleaning the garden, it's important not only to treat the trees themselves but also to clean the ground and structures like concrete pillars. Shallowly turning the soil before cleaning can help remove insect eggs, improving cleaning effectiveness. Whitewashing can also be used to block pests' access routes, preventing overwintering pests from returning to the trees.

4. Ensure uniform bud breakout. One difficulty with early spring garden cleaning is uneven bud breakout: some buds have already greened, while others have not yet broken their scales. In this case, pesticides can only be applied based on the earlier bud breakout, which reduces the effectiveness of cleaning the unbroken areas. Therefore, ensuring uniform bud breakout is crucial for effective garden cleaning.

All the nutrients needed for grape budding come from the nutrients stored in the tree. In order to ensure uniform budding, the Monband® MBT PULI base fertilizer program can be used to ensure nutrient return and provide more sufficient nutrient supply for budding.

Monband® MBT PULI HENG Mg is produced using MBT (Multiple Biostimulants) technology. Its bio-enzymatic hydrolysis technology offers significant advantages over traditional alkaline hydrolysis: through the specific catalysis of bio-enzymes, macromolecules are broken down into small molecules under mild conditions, retaining more functional groups and achieving higher activity, helping roots recover quickly and promoting nutrient recirculation.
