Bitter gourd is an annual climbing, weak herbaceous plant belonging to the Cucurbitaceae family. It prefers warm temperatures but is not cold-hardy, and it tolerates moisture but not waterlogging. It has relatively high requirements for soil and temperature, and is best planted in spring and autumn, with an optimal growth temperature of 20-30℃.

The core principles of water and fertilizer management should be to apply light fertilizer in the early stage, heavy fertilizer in the middle stage, supplementary fertilizer in the later stage, and frequent application of diluted fertilizer.

For bitter melons in their flowering and fruiting stage:
Moisture: This is a critical period for water demand; the soil needs to be kept moist, and watering should be done promptly. Avoid overwatering.
Nutrition: This is the peak period for fertilizer demand. When the first batch of fruits is about the size of an egg, apply fruit-strengthening fertilizer. You can use Monband® DaTong® Balanced Type or Monband® DaTong® High Potassium Type for top dressing.

Root system: Nourishing and protecting roots is key; with recent heavy rainfall, roots are prone to yellowing and rotting, leading to poor root absorption. It is recommended to use Monband® MBT PULI-NANO(MBT SUS) to nourish the root system and promote the growth of new roots.

Field application results:

As shown in the image above, bitter gourds treated with the Monband® MBT PULI-NANO(MBT SUS) solution exhibited stronger growth and thicker stems.
Local effects:

As shown in the image above, leaves treated with the Monband® MBT PULI-NANO(MBT SUS) solution are a vibrant green and stand upright even at high temperatures.

As shown in the image above, branches treated with the Monband® MBT PULI-NANO(MBT SUS) solution have uniform and robust internodes.

As shown in the figure above, bitter gourds treated with the Monband® MBT PULI-NANO(MBT SUS) solution produced a greater number of fruits.
